API CONSTRUCTION SECURES ALSTOM CONTRACT TO INSULATE AIR QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEM AT KCP&L IATAN STATION

APi Construction Company was recently awarded a large contract from Alstom to perform work at Kansas City Power & Light’s Iatan Station near Kansas City, Missouri.  The work includes installing the Insulation & Lagging over the advanced emission control equipment that cleans the flue gas emitted by the 750-MW coal fired boilers.     

 

The contract includes the supply and installation of approximately 485,000 square feet of insulation & lagging on the Unit #1 Selective Catalytic Reducer (SCR), Units #1 & 2 Alstom Fabric Filters, Induced Draft Fans, and the associated ductwork.

 

“We’re excited for another opportunity to work together with Alstom, one of our most valued and respected customers,” said Mark Udager, APi’s Vice President of Construction.

 

API’s Senior Project Manager, Tom Yoch, and Assistant Project Manager, Mason Pavel, completed the take-off and developed the proposal pricing.  Work is scheduled to begin in January 2008 and conclude in the Fall of 2009.
