APi Construction Co. proudly traces its roots back to 1926 when A.P.I., Inc. was established as a small insulation contracting and distribution division of the mechanical company Reuben L. Anderson-Cherne. His son, Lee R. Anderson became president of the family business in 1964. Under his leadership, Anderson expanded operations in the Midwest region, increasing revenues to approximately $30 million.
In 1980 Anderson launched a strategic initiative to diversify the company within the construction and construction-related industries. In addition to insulation and lagging installation, APi expanded into other key industrial markets, such as scaffolding, establishing a national presence. In 1997 APi Group, Inc. was formed, and APi Construction continued operations as a subsidiary. Being a member of the APi Group Inc. family provides the financial backing and bonding capacity of a three billion-dollar-plus corporation. APi Construction is one of 50+ companies making up APi Group, Inc.
