Merrimack Units #1-2 Clean Air Project

Scope of work:

APi is supplying and installing approximately 100,000 SF of API Type I Prefabricated Insulation Panels on two ductwork trains from an existing precipitator to a new wet scrubber. In addition, API is installing approximately 6,000 SF of conventional insulation and lagging on three Flaktwoods ID Fans.

Additional Information:

APi Construction Co.'s Design Department is working with AZCO, the general contractor and Merrill Iron & Steel, the ductwork fabricator, to complete the insulation and lagging design in our 3-dimensional Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. Merrill provided APi with their structural steel drawings prior to our site mobilization, and APi Construction's design personnel are creating our entire insulation system in 3 dimensions. This design method is improving our field craft productivity by minimizing the "unknowns" prior to construction, thus saving our customers time and money.
