Scope of Work
In addition to APi insulating the new Unit #3 Alstom 750-MW supercritical coal-fired boiler under a separate contract, APi completed this massive AQCS project for Babcock & Wilcox Construction Company through two separate contracts. The insulation and lagging contract required APi to supply and install more than 433,000 SF of our Type I Prefabricated Insulation Panels, and a small amount of conventional insulation, on the following equipment:
- seven Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) spray dryer absorbers (SDA)
- two B&W fabric filter dust collectors
- two Howden in-line induced draft fans
- associated ductwork for Units #1, 2 and 3
APi also supplied and installed the insulation and jacketing for 10,000 LF of pipe related to the AQCS. Under a second contract with BWCC, APi supplied and installed the industrial siding for the seven SDA penthouse enclosures, two fabric filter penthouse enclosures, and two fabric filter hopper enclosures.
