Scope of work:
Working under three separate contracts with two major general contractors, APi supplied all of the insulation, lagging, and pipe jacketing for this grassroots 850-MW coal-fired power plant. APi installed more than 800,000 SF of insulation and lagging on the new plant's flatwork, including:
- 850-MW Alstom supercritical coal-fired boiler
- Alstom selective catalytic reduction system (SCR)
- two Alstom pulse jet fabric filters (PJFF)
- eight Howden in-line induced draft fans
- all boiler and AQCS ductwork
- miscellaneous tanks, drums, and equipment
In addition, APi Construction installed all of the pipe insulation and jacketing throughout the new power plant. The total sum of piping reached 62,000 LF across the boiler piping, Toshiba steam turbine, and balance of plant.
