Recent Safety Awards

APi Construction Co. has proudly earned the following nationally-recognized safety awards for our performance and overall corporate safety program:

2009 NIA Theodore M. Brodie Distinguished Safety Award
The National Insulation Association (NIA) presented APi Construction with its highest safety award for outstanding dedication to safety performance for the second year-in-a-row.

TAUC's 25th Annual Thomas J. Reynolds Award
The Association of Union Constructors' (TAUC) 25th Annual Thomas J. Reynolds Award for Excellence in Safety & Health recognizes and commends the exceptional efforts made by TAUC contractors to prevent the occurrence of serious injuries or worse on the job site.

NMAPC Zero Injury Safety Awards
The National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee (NMAPC) presented three (3) awards to APi Construction for zero injuries at job sites in 2008:

  • Kansas City Power & Light: Iatan Power Plant - Weston, MO
  • East Kentucky Power: H.L. Spurlock Power Station - Maysville, KY
  • Dayton Power & Light: J.M. Stuart Station - Aberdeen, OH

2009 SMACNA Safety Excellence Award
The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractor's National Association (SMACNA)'s recognized APi Construction for outstanding safety performance and safety related statistics in 2008.

OSHA STAR Site Zero Injuries Award
OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) implements management, labor, and OSHA cooperative relationships at workplaces that have implemented a comprehensive safety and health management system. APi Construction participated in the Xcel Energy High Bridge Project with zero injuries.

OSHA Region V Certificate of Commendation
APi Construction received an award from OSHA Region V for completing more than 154,000 hours without a loss time or recordable injury while completing the Weston Unit #4 Power Plant Project in Rothschild, Wis.
