Design

We have an in-house design department that utilizes cutting-edge BIM (Building Information Modeling) to provide accurate drawings and in-depth project models. Designing industrial insulation systems gives us the latitude to be innovative in our application methods. These innovations almost always lead to cost savings. Our design department provides field supervision with the tools to formulate a pre-planned design to minimize inefficiencies and offer you value from the start of a project. Fabrication

APi Construction Co. is one of the few nationwide mechanical insulation contractors to fabricate our own insulation support system components. Our main shop in St. Paul, Minn., includes several sheers, breaks, welders, and other specialty equipment. From subgirt and standoffs to prefabricated door covers and other specialty items, our professional and experienced union sheet metal craftsmen create the components necessary to complete our work. We also have a mobile fabrication shop where job-specific metal components can be fabricated on site, allowing our crew to react to specific needs and facilitate quality control. Our fabrication facility implements many elements of the Lean program we follow.

Shipping

Unique to APi Construction Co. is our shipping department. With immediate access to our trucks and trailers, APi can deliver equipment and materials to the job-site with peace of mind. APi Construction's shipping team is familiar with the way we do business, and the proper care we demand while delivering our materials to the job-site. This helps ensure our product arrives on time and without defect, resulting in reduced delays and increased efficiency. Our exclusive shipping is one more component in how we keep costs down while remaining responsive to customer needs.

Scaffolding

API Type I Prefabricated Insulation Panels

In 1972 APi Construction responded to customer desires to develop an economical installation method that didn't sacrifice the thermally efficient properties of a conventional insulation system. Our drive to improve led us to develop the API Type I Prefabricated Insulation Panel. Throughout the past 35 years APi Construction has installed tens-of-millions of square feet of prefabricated panels on scrubbers, baghouses, precipitators, and ductwork across the power industry. APi Construction's Type I Prefabricated Insulation Panels are built by our craftsmen in a controlled setting, facilitating quality control and maximum productivity. The panels contain oversized insulation to provide compression and ensure a tight fit. Our panels are also ship-lapped by two inches to further guarantee there will be no gaps in the insulation system. Finally, API Type I Prefabricated Insulation Panels require less intense labor to install than a conventional system, minimizing the risk of injury to our employees and ultimately saving money for our customers.
