The Purchasing Coordinator is assists in all aspects of procurement and supply chain processes for APi, Inc. They will coordinate the sourcing and purchasing of essential materials, supplies, and equipment for APi Inc’s national scope operations. This includes researching materials suppliers and comparing costs, negotiating purchase agreements and developing inventory controls to identify demand for materials. The Purchasing Coordinator will update and maintain databases of potential suppliers and cultivate working relationships to ease the process of acquiring new materials. They will also monitor and maintain company vehicle inventory, and assist in the purchase of company vehicles.
Bachelor’ degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, business or related field preferred.
Travel to project sites, or other APi Inc company locations as needed.
Less than 4 trips a year, 1-2 nights away per trip.
More frequent travel early in development of role to better understand organizational needs.
Solicit material and equipment project pricing.
Create and issue Purchase Orders for projects and overhead.
Input information into Web-Apps.
Confirm orders with suppliers and communicate delivery with site teams.
Schedule and coordinate shipping.
Source and vet new suppliers.
Track project equipment rentals.
Maintain records and reconcile credit card purchases.
Potentially provide backup to fleet manager (trucks).
Assist in ordering office supplies for headquarters.
Schedule fleet maintenance and repairs
Work with external vendors, including mechanics
Maintain a database of truck and driver information
Assist with vehicle purchases and replacements
Assist with process improvement
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations
