Description:
The Business Development Manager, leads the full cycle sales process to grow revenue and profit margin for their assigned customers, markets, and/or specialties. Their work supports both departmental and company financial goals. The Business Development Manager’s expertise is critical to the success of the individual departments/branches; their input is valued and needs to be clearly communicated. They will work independently, paired up, and on teams to accomplish this. The Business Development Manager will need to clearly communicate, collaborate, exude positivity and resilience, and show up every day with a desire to WIN. Additional duties include supporting the marketing and communications leader / team.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field, MBA a plus

3-5 years’ sales or marketing experience (industrial or commercial construction experience preferred)
- 1-3 years’ Supervisory or management experience (field experience a plus)
Responsibilities:
Build Relationships & Sell Qualified Work: (70%)
- Work with department leaders to create account plans and/or develop win strategies that help achieve departmental and company financial goals – fill the funnel.
- Know your customers personally – be highly visible to them and always be networking and connecting dots (travel requirements fluctuate with sales activity – 15% to 25%).
- Know your pipeline – have visibility of and be able to clearly communicate upcoming opportunities and potential for capture 0-18 months out.
- Proactively build and update API CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) to accurately forecast business funnel, schedule and revenue by month.
- Be proactive and entrepreneurial – seek out opportunities with new and/or existing customers – don’t wait for calls or emails to come to you.
Support the Team: (20%)
- Identify and target the best opportunities – communicate them internally to the team.
- Use the company CRM with consistency and accuracy.
- Be highly visible and available to internal customers (both field and office).
- Provide leadership of marketing/communications team to include strategic guidance, planning, and execution of products and initiatives.
- Be an asset to the department leaders as they craft/execute their Ts.
- Lead / train others as required on business analysis, inside sales, outside sales, CRM, etc.
- Be prepared to assist others on the team with special projects, daily/weekly tasks, and cross-selling.
Strategize: (10%)
- Research through all available avenues to uncover market trends, collect opportunity leads, and observe developing trends.
- Provide market research data to and work with department leaders and Director of BD Strategy to help develop and operationalize specific company, department, and project strategies.
- Special projects that benefit the entire company.
- Develop and track potential acquisition targets
